Three simple words describe him. These words truly epitomize his personality, approach to ministry, and means to see the Holy Spirit move. In a phrase Cornell Jordan is:
A veteran in youth ministry for nearly 15 years, he now travels as a youth evangelist spreading the Gospel to students and young adults all across America. In December 2006, he traveled with a team of pastors and lay leaders from the International Pentecostal Church of Christ to Kenya. While there, he and the team assisted in several ministry outreaches, a youth camp, and a church leadership forum.
Unlike most evangelists, Cornell is known for his creative messages, unique illustrations, and infectious personality. A true “discipleship nut” he’s driven to see this generation of teenagers understand the importance of a strong foundation of faith in Christ Jesus. Over the course of his ministry, he has seen students from various races, cultures, economic backgrounds, and denominations come to see Jesus Christ in fresh new ways.
In addition to his work in the ministry, Cornell has gained some invaluable experience with other youth-related fields. Some of the areas in which he has worked are: Residential Treatment for Youth, Juvenile Corrections, and Child Protective Services. He believes that these experiences have enabled him to minister more effectively to the youth he meets and the families they come from.
Yet, all this comes secondary to his role as a husband and father. Kristin, his sweetheart of 15 years (married for nine), is the true strength of his ministry. Together they have two children: Christopher and Halle. The Jordan family resides in Kent, OH and attends Ravenna Assembly of God in Ravenna, OH.
